Does anyone have recommendations for night nurses? Did you use an agency? How much should I expect to pay?

I can't help you with night nurses but I did use a baby nurse who stayed day and night with me for the first two weeks after my baby was born. She charged $200/day which I think ends up being less than the night only nurse (I believe rates are $20/hr with a 10-12 hour minimum). It was great to have the nurse there during the day because then my husband and I could go out to a movie or lunch plus she helped aroudn the house and it allowed me to take naps too.

We used a wonderful nurse for our daughter in January. Her name is Anna Payne and her number is 407-492-9419. She lives in Florida but comes up to Boston regularly for jobs. She stayed with us for a couple of weeks and was really a life saver. She taught us how to care for our new baby and also took care of us as we were adjusting to life with a newborn. I can't say enough good things about Anna. She has tons of references of other families she stayed with in the Boston area.
