The Gap has a surprisingly good selection of maternity clothes from basic pants and skirts to flattering and stylish sweaters and tops. The best part (to us anyway) is the convenience. Order online and then return to any regular Gap store. Unlike many maternity stores, everything can be returned per the Gap's regular return policy (which has as of August 1, 2006 been changed to 90 days). Many of the regular Gap styles come in maternity sizes with appropriate adjustments for the growing belly.

Gap Maternity has comfortable basics like cargo pants and t-shirts but also some more interesting and form fitting styles like bell sleeved sweaters and empire waisted tops. All in all, the maternity styles are more expensive than the same product in the regular Gap so if you can get away with buying non-maternity clothes a size larger, that is still a better deal. However, Gap Maternity's convenience and return policy are much appreciated given the rigid policies of most other maternity stores.
